Our Trip to the Zoo

By Emmeline

We came all the way to France for the castles, the bakeries, old cathedrals, creperies, but how about the zoo?

Five people asked us when we came to St. Aignan if we were planning to go to the zoo, so we thought we'd better go.

Our zoo here in St. Aignan is amazing! There are so many cool and unique animals to see! This zoo is so amazing many people from Paris come and visit this zoo, and we are two and a half hours away from Paris!

We started off the with the birds:
Feel the love....

At the zoo there were familiar animals and some stange animals that I had never seen before like tapirs and ospinki.

There are 4,000 animals in the zoo and only 3,000 people in St. Aignan.  Some of my favorites were... the zebras, elephants, red pandas, donkeys, manateas, seals and leapards. They also did a seal, sea lion and bird show while we were there.  It was like being at Sea World!  The bald eagles and vulchers flew back and forth to there bird trainers and the seals and sea lions did flips, clapped their hands, balanced balls on there noses, and jumped through hoops!

Some animals had cool, but strange features like a big afro on a bird, a long nose on a big animal,  and a long tail on a monkey and so on.

One of the funniest parts was when I found the piranas.  The sign said, "Please do not put your finger in the pirana's tank."  But the tank was low, wide open and within reach of even 3 year old, Anthon.  This would definately never happen in America!  They would have a big wall dividing you from the biting fish.  I decided that the French people are more obedient or my dad says in American we have more lawyers!

This trip to the zoo was literally the best!
